CBI Showroom

Our concept is reveal and exposed. The goal is to reveal Knoll's furniture and its historic building to public notice and knowledge. We like to evoke and reveal it's product through the light and this light is achieved by the irregular shape of the skylight window on the roof, which will collects and distribute light from the roof to the deepest parts of the building.

Nature Inspiration

For this project, we draw inspiration from objects in nature. I have chosen water bamboo and the bush plants. Above are the pictures and sketches from my observation based on their symmetry, composition, texture, color, and intersection.

Urban Lofts

Housing in urban setting is growing more attractive due to affordability, proximity to amenities, decreased dependence on the automobile, and renewed sense of community. The design of such housing for the growing demographic of young, first time home owners is the focus of this project. For this project, we are ask to convert a former industrial building to a multi-unit building for first time owners.

I want the living space to reflect comfort and freshness with beautiful landscape. The design was greatly influenced by different regions and cultures. While the structural transparency of the volumes and the minimalist aspect of the interior was derived from Japaneses design.  The concept for the units is stitch, people come cross with each other, yet each individual still maintain their own identity.

Stair Design

Following is the plan+elevation+isometric views of the stair case. my original idea is to design a spiral stair case. I alway thought spiral stairs are really awesome, but then when I got into the real space planning and the thought of comfort level of spiral stair change my mind about it. so i have this instead. The stair is made of wood and steel. I focused on the storage of the stairs. as you can see on the following drawings on the bottom left hand side of the stairs that will opens up and have the ability of store shoes and ext. on the right side, it can be pull out and store for something else.
